Your Silence Breaks My Heart

by Kavalnain

When I heard your voice for the last time
I thought I was listening to an angel.
Your words were the kindest to be said.
Each breath I heard you take,
My heart skipped a beat.
Each time you said,
“I love you,”
I gasped for air
And melted with love.
But now it’s so quiet.
I hear your voice no more.
I didn’t think that would have been
The last time.
Now I’m here,
Crying as the silence
Breaks my heart in two.
